On Wednesday 12th March 2014 local authorities met together with Carbon Smart in Manchester to hear updates on the conversion factors and tools used for Greenhouse Gas Reporting.

In 2013 Defra appointed Carbon Smart to lead a review of the UK’s conversion factors for greenhouse gas reporting:  http://www.ukconversionfactorscarbonsmart.co.uk  The goal of the review was to improve the usability of the factors through simplification and the development of an online tool to better navigate them.

In this session consulants from Carbon Smart presented best practice on data collection and reporting along with changes to the conversion factors.
