Community Renewable Energy Planners Workshops
The workshops were delivered by Neighbourhoods NW and Energy Saving Trust as part of a wider community engagement programme to address the barriers and build skills around community engagement and renewable energy technologies.
Ultimately the programme seeks to encourage more community groups to bring forward renewable energy schemes as well as increasing their level of understanding about the different types of renewable energy technologies involved, their impacts and the common misconceptions around them.
Presenters from Neighbourhoods NW and Energy Saving Trust covered: • Good practice in working with community groups, • Key issues in engaging with developers, • A sub regional perspective on community renewable projects • FAQs from the Community Renewable Energy Scheme training programme, • Interactive, participative exercises
