About
*The CLASP Service is currently dormant due to changes in funding. However the resource library remains online, making available a wide range of reports, tools and guides.*
CLASP is the local area sustainability support service. A not-for-profit service, providing free support for public sector organisations and their partners, on dealing with the challenges of environmental resilience, reducing energy use, and renewable energy planning issues.
Our website, vast range of resources and monthly national news digests are freely available to all.
Background & Funding
CLASP steadily grew its services and audience from its origins in 2008 when it was formed to assist local authorities with National Indicator targets. The programme and network became sector-led, and widened its scope of work with Liverpool City Council as accountable body until 2015.
The programme received and administered funding from DECC, DCLG, Environment Agency, NWIEP and NWDA. To continue the work of the programme in 2015-17 Liverpool City Council transfered the hosting of the services to Climate UK until its closure, and the site now remains online as a legacy of resources.
