CLASP Small Project Grants - Awards Announced

We received an amazing response to our latest funding round for small project grants. On the 22nd September the CLASP Advisory Group met and assessed all of the applications, but financial constraints mean that we have only been able to make offers to 6 of the 24 that applied.

We can now confirm the first 4 projects to receive this commitment:

  • Sefton Council (on behalf of Liverpool City Region)

The project will seek to prepare a usable set of baseline environmental (low carbon and adaptation)  indicators that can provide straightforward, innovative, effective and flexible monitoring and benchmarking at a number of different spatial levels.

  • Lake District National Park

Development of a 'fast track' method for establishing a co-operative to finance public sector and community renewable energy projects through a share offer.

  • Lancashire County Council (on behalf of Lancashire sub-region)

Taking forward the deployment of renewables, working with each authority to identify renewable energy targets to help inform the preparation of Local Development Plans.

  • Cheshire West & Chester Council

Working through Mersey Forest to produce guidance on biomass heating systems to assist authorities, specifiers and operators.

We are also working with 2 other authorities to finalise details of their projects and hope to confirm those grants shortly.

The assessment panel were very pleased with the high standard and variety of project ideas and wish all applicants well with securing alternative funding and taking their projects forwards.
