Past Activity of the Climate Change Skills Fund
In July 2010 CLG committed £1 million extra funding to the North West to further support planning for carbon reduction and climate change, through to the end of June 2011.
The existing CLASP programme was expanded to provide a range of services for planning authorities, planning officers, members and also for communities wishing to engage in the planning process and bring forward local low carbon and renewable energy developments.
The programme consisted of seven key workstreams, which involved a combination of national providers, local expertise, council resource and other relevant expertise, with an emphasis on building and sustaining local capacity. These included:
- Planning Technical Support & Training
- Supported Learning Group
- Community Engagement
- Sub-Regional Innovation
- Green Finance
- Low Carbon Procurement
- Leadership and Member Development
More information on each of these workstreams can be found on the links above and all the outputs are available in the resource library.
